Having held bank accounts with other banks in Mexico & the U.S. before, whatever I say about this bank in the UK won’t be good enough to explain how satisfied I am with them.

I have a premium current account with them. To qualify for this account you must have an income of £30,000 or over.

Here’s what you get:

* Free transfers of money to other Citibank accounts in the U.S., India and Mexico
* No charge for using cash machines anywhere in the world
* No fees for purchases made in foreign currencies
* The ability to make deposits of cheques drawn in U.S. dollars or Euros with no extra fees
* Free travel insurance with really good cover for you & your partner for the first year after you've opened your account

The above features should convince you that this is absolutely one of the best accounts in the market. Furthermore, their customer service is equally as good online as it is by telephone. Need more deposit envelopes? Call or email them and they’ll arrive by post in 2 or 3 days at the most. Need a new cheque book? They’ll send it to you automatically when their system detects that you’re about to run out!

This bank has very few branches on the high street but I’m fortunate enough to work near one of them although I have never gone there because I’ve been able to manage just fine through the internet or by phone. That alone is a testament to how good they are.
